The first idea I had, at the beginning of the year, was to do a magazine about animals. It was always going to be about animals/pets. Then, it turned into dogs, specifically. The turning point into horses, was when we were doing our audience questionnaire polls. Most of my responses were not for dogs. Then shortly after that, after a discussion with my teacher, I decided to do my DPS about horse care, and the rest of the magazine followed.
Overall, I learned a lot in this project. I learned a lot of different things, like different online websites, especially Wix, and Adobe Photoshop. When I first started, I knew very little about photoshop, and now I can comfortably cut out a hand of a photo, or add a image onto another one smoothly, etc. I even played with the lighting and gradients in my cover, as you can see at the top of the cover. When I was first making my Cover, I had issues cropping the photo, and sometimes the text would delete which was frustrating. However, I overcame the problems and patiently got through it.
The main breakthrough for me, was when I completed the cover. Because honestly, throughout the project I was worried that the topic, or idea wasn't good enough. But once the first step was complete, it filled me with hope and I was able to realize, it was a good topic. After that, I saw the vision coming to life, and it was honestly pretty fun. Making the cover, and other elements on photoshop was quite enjoyable, and I found myself having fun making this project, instead of it being a chore.
I learned how to take different types of photos, different mise-en-scene terms and other terms that helped me take the correct photos. Plus, I enjoyed using something that I love, horses, in my AICE class. The final product is successful, according to the criteria from Aice and the help my teacher gave me. With her help, I was able to achieve the end goal, a completed Cover, TOC, DPS, and blog page. Ultimately, this project was successful, even through the harships I was able to overcome them, through my teachers help, and online guides on youtube.
